several weeks back i posted the penciled and inked versions, and here’s the color and shaded final piece. hope you like it!
whew, it took quite some time but there’s now 8 wallpapers now available! just click Wallpaper on the top menu bar and you’ll find all kinds of sizes, including iphone and android sizes. yup, i’m pretty proud of myself. ![]()
get ready for an explosion of art! we’ll start off slow with a Polaroid-like shot of remy, ivy, and finn.
ever heard of yuri’s night? it’s a celebration across the world held on april 12 commemorating yuri gagarin, the first person to launch into space in 1961. it’s also the day of the first space shuttle launch, later in 1981. there celebrations occur all over the place, and it just so happens my friends have been throwing the one here on the space coast for the last several years. this year i finally got off my bumpkin and drew them an image, maybe to be used on t-shirts and such.
couple weeks ago i posted the pencils of a splash i worked. well, here’s the inked version of it. stay tuned some more and the colored and shaded versions will pop up as well! enjoy!

ever take a picture and one of your friends or maybe a stranger gets in it and makes a funny face? that’s me.
did this awhile back and finally getting around to posting it. this is the first step i do, which is just pencils. the next couple steps, inking, scanning, coloring, touch-ups, and maybe lettering are all challenging in their own ways, but as an artist, this is still my favorite step!
as i was drawing this, i knew i wanted to draw real-life finn sitting in the center, flanked by elle and ivy. i always have a hard time creating backdrops, so i just stole this one from where i was sitting, at a starbucks coffee shop. the lighting apparatus was a google image find and the ottoman was actually from my house. (love ottomans!) now, the painting in the background was something spontaneous. i knew the backdrop needed something, but obviously not to dramatic as to overwhelm the foreground. so, to drive home the point of elle, finn, and ivy, i just drew their comic strip version. i loved the way it turned out, and hope you do too!
finally cracked open a book i got as a gift awhile back called Creative Photoshop by Derek Lea, and learned some new tricks with photoshop. i’m sure i didn’t apply the lesson to the best extent, but hey, it’s a learning process right? hope you enjoy!
