That basically says no one ever changes, no one ever grows. We all change all the time. And, just maybe, hanging around with a hot girl, with no hope for going further has some rewards of it's own. I've been married for almost 30 years. I love being married. I also love having highly attractive much younger women around. It's like appreciating a beautiful sunset...or a 'Monet' etc. I disagree with you on the ‘if she was going to change she would have already’. That

As I was watching, it occurred to me that I was the character of Tom and that most of my past relationships have been with women like Summer who are so aloof and how I kept trying to hang to something because I believed it was fate though all signs pointed otherwise. It just reaffirms how lucky I am to have moved on and found the love of my life who actually cares about me as much as I care about her. I loved that movie.
